A manhunt has been launched in Manchester after a man grabbed the young boy from behind and took him into nearby wasteland before he escaped.
A 10-year-old boy was grabbed by a man and forced down an alley before he managed to escape, police have revealed.
A manhunt has been launched to track down the attempted abductor, who struck in broad daylight yesterday in Salford, Greater Manchester.
The child was walking down the road when he was grabbed from behind and taken down an alley and onto nearby wasteland, Greater Manchester Police revealed.
It happened at 3.45pm in Castleway in Clifton.
Thankfully the boy managed to escape and returned to his home.
The man who grabbed him is described as a black man, around 6ft 4ins tall, in his late 20s.
Detective Inspector Joe Clarke of GMP’s Salford Borough, said: “People in the area will understandably be concerned that this has happened to a young boy.
“We have a team of officers carrying out a number of enquiries and have increased patrols in the area, please talk to them if you have any concerns.
“It was a busy time of day, so I’m really appealing for anyone who heard a disturbance at this time, or saw something that stood out from the norm, to get in touch and help our investigation.”
