An 11-year-old boy has died in tragic circumstances at home just days before Christmas, according to police. Relatives of the youngster, whose death is not being treated as suspicious, found his body this morning, police say.
Medics rushed to the house in Cork, Ireland at around 8pm last night and attempts were made to revive the boy. He was then taken to Cork University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Forenisc examiners are searching for clues at the home, which has been sealed off.
A senior police officer said: “We are treating this as a very sad personal tragedy. It is absolutely terrible to think that something like this can happen to someone so young and it is particularly poignant when it happens Christmas week.”
