Armed police have cordoned off an area of London after a “suspicious package” was found. Witnesses said that roads between Moorgate and Liverpool street have been closed. Emerging videos have shown dog units being brought in to assess the area.
The scenes in London’s financial district come just days after a bucket bomb was set off on a London Underground train at Parsons Green Station, west London, injuring 30 commuters. Witnesses are reporting a heavy police presence, with armed officers and explosives experts patrolling the streets. Surrounding buildings were reportedly told to keep staff inside.
UPDATE: City Of London police later tweeted: “And we’re all clear at #Moorgate. Thank you for your patience; cordons have been lifted.”
