BREAKING: Massive Earthquake Strikes Italy, Including Rome

A strong earthquake has hit central Italy.1italyRome has been affected, with several centuries-old buildings shaken.

The 5.4 magnitude quake hit near Visso, about 100 miles northeast of the capital, according to the US Geological Survey. Tremors were felt from Perugia in Umbria to Rome and the town of Aquila.

It comes just two months after a devastating earthquake killed nearly 300 people and destroyed hilltop villages.
