An Emirates plane has caught fire on a runway at Dubai International Airport after crash-landing.Emirates said flight EK521 was involved in an “accident” that occurred at 12:45pm local time (08:45 GMT) on Tuesday, but failed to provide further details. Photos on social media show smoke billowing from the aircraft.
Emirates can confirm that an incident happened at Dubai International Airport on 3rd August 2016 at about 12.45pm local time. The plane, which arrived at the airport from Thiruvananthapuram, India, crash-landed, the Dubai government’s media office said on its official Twitter account.
Passengers were evacuated and there have so far been no reports of injuries, according to the media office. All take-offs and landings at the airport have been suspended, according to the Twitter account of live air traffic monitor Flightradar24.
