Wayne Rooney has been sentenced for drink-driving. The Everton striker, 31, was stopped in a black Volkswagen Beetle in Wilmslow, Cheshire, at 2am on 1 September. The former England captain was on a night out while his pregnant wife and their three sons were on holiday.
He was released on bail after being charged with “driving whilst over the prescribed limit”. He admitted one count of drink-driving when he appeared at Stockport Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
Wayne Rooney has been banned from driving for two years and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service after admitting drink-driving.
