Corrie fans were in tears when Maria Connor bid an emotional farewell to her young son on Christmas Eve. The hairdresser, played by Samia Longchambon, said goodbye to Liam before she went to court to be sentenced, urging her little boy to remember the good times they’d had.Through tears, she handed him a snow globe and told him to think of her when she looked at it. Maria was later sentenced to 12 months behind bars, leaving little Liam in the care of Maria’s brother Kirk and leaving fans of the soap in tears, asking Corrie bosses how they could run such a sad storyline on Christmas Eve.
