A dad was killed and a mum and two kids are fighting for their lives after their family car was mangled in the M5 horror crash yesterday. Police have said four people died after a lorry smashed through the central reservation and collided with oncoming vehicles on the motorway yesterday afternoon.
Hero drivers were seen leaping from their cars and pulling screaming children from burning vehicles as emergency crews rushed to the scene in south Gloucestershire. Avon and Somerset Constabulary said a woman and two children were rushed to hospitals in the Bristol area with life-threatening injuries following the devastating smash.
According to a witness who rushed to help, the trio are a mum and two young kids. The youngsters’ dad was reportedly found in the family’s vehicle with “no pulse”. The witness, who did not wish to be named, said the family’s vehicle was mangled in the crash, which prompted emergency crews to close the busy motorway. Other witnesses had earlier described how the lorry’s tyre “blew”.
