Lifeboat crews scrambled to the scene at 5:20pm yesterday.
They rescued the parents and their two-year-old girl while the other two children managed to get back onto the rocks. The man and toddler were airlifted to hospital. He later died while the little girl remains in a serious condition.
The woman was also flown to the hospital, in Treliske, where she remains having sustained minor injuries. Next of kin have not yet been informed and formal identification has not yet been carried out on the man.
