Dramatic CCTV footage could show the Parsons Green bomber leaving his home with a bomb 90 minutes before an explosion on a Tube train injured 30 people. A homemade bomb inside a Lidl bag partially exploded on a packed London Underground train at Parsons Green Tube station in west London on Friday.
Footage obtained by ITV shows a man leaving a house carrying a large Lidl carrier bag at 6.50am – 90 minutes before the ‘fireball’ ripped through the packed tube train. The property in Sunbury-on-Thames, Surrey, has since been raided by armed police who evacuated all neighbouring homes within 100 metres.
Photos of the bomb – placed inside a bucket in a Lidl bag – appeared on social media within minutes of the attempted atrocity. The bombing suspect, who was arrested in Dover yesterday, is said to be an 18-year-old was an Iraqi orphan who had moved to Britain aged 15 after his parents died.
