1boardTwelve people, including eleven girls, were killed when a fire swept through a dormitory at an all-female boarding school.

The incident occurred yesterday in the southern Turkish province of Adana, according to officials. The fire, which broke out in a dormitory housing both primary and high school students, may have been caused by an electrical fault.

At least twenty-two other girls were injured, although the extent and severity of their injuries is unclear. Most of the girls killed in the fire were aged between 10 and 16. Some of the girls attempted to escape the building by jumping out of the windows in panic.
