A body has been found in Salford canal, leaving locals worrying the so-called “Manchester Pusher” has killed again. The police’s underwater search and marine unit were called to the scene on Thursday morning. It is understood the body was found in a canal near Ontario Basin, close to some luxury apartment blocks.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service also confirmed specialist firefighters are at the scene following reports of an unidentified body.
It is thought the body is that of a male. Earlier in the year it was reported that more than 80 bodies have been pulled from waters in Manchester over the past six years – nearly all young men , leading to speculation that a serial killer dubbed the “Manchester Pusher” is responsible for some of the deaths.
