Passengers are facing rush hour delays after a fire alert at Old Street station in London.Trains are being cancelled, delayed or diverted because of a what us believed to have been a problem with overheating cables next to the overland track at Old Street Tube station.
At 6:36am, TFL tweeted that Old Street Station would be closed while they responded to a fire alert. Old Street station is a central London National Rail and London Underground station at the junction of Old Street and City Road just north of the City of London.
National Rail has tweeted: “Passengers may use Abellio Greater Anglia services between Hertford East and London Liverpool Street.”
Great Northern tweeted: “Due to a fire next to the track at Old Street services running through this station may be cancelled, delayed or diverted.”
