Michael Schumacher’s pal has offered a sad prediction about the racing legend’s health. The bombshell news comes just weeks after former Ferrari chairman Luca Cordero di Montezelmo said “Schumi” was responding well to treatment.
However, Gerd Krämer – Schumacher’s first sponsor – warned it would take a “miracle” for him to return to public life after a horror skiing accident. The former head of sports marketing for Mercedes – nicknamed the “puppet master” of F1 – said the seven-time world champion was in a “difficult situation”.
Mr Krämer said he would not be celebrating the anniversary of Schumacher’s debut F1 race in light of Schumacher’s ill health. He said: “He is in a more than difficult situation, and it would take a miracle to see him in public again. He is completely shielded by his family.”
Schumacher was skiing in the Alps in 2013 when he suffered a devastating head injury after a crash on the slopes. He was placed in a coma for six months before being relocated to his home. A year after the accident he is believed to have been unable to speak and suffering from memory problems as well as being paralysed.
