It’s autumn! You might be thinking mellow fruitfulness signals Hallowe’en and Bonfire Night, but it’s also time for Spider Mating Season. Early October is prime time for male arachnids to seek out a sexy female – preferably in your bedroom, bathroom or airing cupboard.
This year experts are warning that 150 million giant spiders will invade our homes. Hairy, orange-brown spiders measuring around 7.5cm will be rocking up and getting down to business over the next few weeks.
This year is forecast to be a bumper year for our eight-legged pals, as there were more flies around during the warm summer. Ways to keep them out include spritzing peppermint or eucalyptus oil around entrances or sprinkling doors and windows with tea tree oil, rose, cinnamon or citronella.
