A four-year-old was left waiting half an hour on her second day at school – because her child carer forgot to pick her up.After-school club Kids Round the Clock failed to pick up little Milly Goode-Delaney because the service had not told their driver she had been booked in. Her devastated mum Katy Goode was only alerted to their error when a member of staff from Haverley Hey Primary School , in Wythenshawe, Manchester, called her to say her little girl was still there.
Katy, who had been picking up her other children after a day at college, said she burst into tears when she heard. She told the Manchester Evening News : “It was only Milly’s second proper day in class and this service had been recommended by the school. I was so upset when they told me, I was in tears.”
Katy was with her other two children Marcus, one, and Thea, two – so was unable to get Milly herself. But Milly’s dad Jamie Delaney did manage to get to the school by leaving work early – by which time staff had contacted Kids Round the Clock, based in Benchill, and they had returned to pick Milly up.
Katy had arranged for the pick up that morning and she paid £15 for the service. Rashada Bashir, managing director of Kids Around the Clock, which has sites around Greater Manchester, said their mistake happened because staff who took the booking failed to tell the driver to collect Milly.
