Further heartbreak for the tragic family of croc hunter Steve Irwin has been revealed. His father has discovered that his son’s legacy continues to live on past his untimely death from a stingray attack, after he discovered Steve had written his parents a poignant letter.
During his research for his book The Last Crocodile Hunter, Bob Irwin found the note in an unopened envelope, tucked into one of his son’s books. In the letter to his parents, Steve is full of love and admiration for his parents.
“Probably one of the most unfortunate things in a ‘Bloke’s Life’ is that it takes over 30 years to realize how essential you have been to build my character, my ethics and, most importantly, my HAPPINESS,” the letter reads.
Steve continued: “At 32, I am finally starting to figure it out. In good times and in bad, you were there. Your strength and endurance to raise me will not go unrewarded. My love for you is my strength!” before concluding, “For the rest of my life I will reflect on the unbelievably GREAT times we’ve shared and will continue to share. You’re my best friends!”
