Court papers have officially confirmed the full, horrifying extent of racing legend Michael Schumacher’s traumatic injuries. The condition of the seven time Formula One World Champion has been under lock and key since he suffered a traumatic brain injury in a skiing accident in 2013. But recently, German magazine Bunte has claimed the 47-year-old can walk again following a lengthy rehabilitation period.
However, his camp have moved quickly to rubbish the claims – and have taken the publication to court. During a hearing on Friday, Mr Schumacher’s lawyer presented concrete updates on the driver’s health. He bluntly told the court: “He cannot walk.”
And fuelling fire to the flames that the German is paralysed, he added that Schumacher could not even walk with the aid of therapists.
The magazine’s report was widely regarded as a ruse to prompt the racer’s camp to release more information on his health. But in the lawsuit, Mr Schumacher’s legal team argued he deserved privacy – particularly surrounding the condition of his health.
