A man has reportedly been stabbed on a train at a station in London before chasing people outside with a knife. Commuters say the man was stabbed at Forest Hill in south London while the attacker “ranted on the streets”.
One woman wrote that a man had ‘just stabbed another man” before he “chased people outside the station with a knife.” Another witness said the attacker was screaming “some mad s**t” during the attack. A large emergency service presence is at the station.
One eyewitness said the attacker “held a knife against a lady in a headscarf and asked: “where is your man?”. Police later said a man had been arrested after a person had been “seriously assaulted”.
A British Transport spokesperson said: “We are currently at Forest Hill railway station, after being called to a serious assault at 1.18pm. One person has been arrested on suspicion of GBH following the incident and is currently in police custody. One man was treated by ambulance staff at the scene and is currently en route to hospital.”
