A seaside town has been rocked by a brutal stabbing in which a man had his throat slit and was “stabbed in the groin”.The stabbing took place in front of horrified families in Margate, Kent. Witnesses have described how the man was stabbed “four or five times” at around 5pm yesterday behind an Iceland in College Walk.
A witness took to Facebook to describe the victim and what they saw of the terrifying attack. They said: “A male was stabbed in both armpits, four or five times in the chest and abdomen, possibly in the groin area and also had his throat slit. It was in broad daylight and loads of families were about.”
An air ambulance was called to airlift the victim, who was in his thirties, to hospital. Kent Police said that the man had been taken to hospital and that he was conscious and breathing.
Detective Sergeant Sheena Barrell said: “The circumstances surrounding this incident are currently unexplained.” His attacker is still on the loose and police have appealed to the public for more information.
