Huge Blaze Breaks Out In Block Of Flats – Fire Crews Race To Scene With 15 Engines

Fire crews are tackling a blaze at a block of flats in Kent where flames were seen billowing from the top floor. Kent Fire & Rescue Service are on the scene at Holborough Lakes, Snodland, and were called out at 6.48am. The service confirmed that 15 fire engines are in attendance and and that half of the building was on fire when they arrived.

They are now working to contain the blaze and stop it spreading to other properties at the housing development. It is understood that nobody was seriously injured as a direct result of the blaze and that fire crews will remain on the scene for some time.  One woman was taken to hospital with chest pains.

Twitter user Despicable Lee said at 8.01am: “Just woke up to 8 Fire engines and the block of flats across the Rd in full blaze. Think everybody got out, Jesus I hope so.” Another person called Jo wrote at 7.40am: “@Kent_999s there’s flats alight at holborough lakes in #snodland”.
