A British Airways flight was held on the runway at an airport in Paris this morning over a security threat. James Anderson, 20, who is on the flight from Charles de Gaulle airport to London Heathrow said that the plane was searched due to an apparent threat made by an individual.
After an initial search was given the all clear, passengers were put through X-rays and body scanners by armed officers before they were given the go-ahead to fly. Pictures and video from the scene show police and fire engines surrounding the plane as it sits on the runway at the airport.
James said that the pilot had said there were technical issues as the plane was held on the runway for an hour, adding: “We were then told the aircraft had to move to another part of the airport. That’s when we noticed police and fire vehicles quickly surround the plane and dozens of armed officers and firefighters got out. The pilot then said there had been a direct security threat involving our flight specifically.”
