A toddler walked the streets for 20 minutes in a nappy and T-shirt after nursery staff did not notice he was missing.Joseph Kemp, three, was rescued 100 yards away by a passer-by who took him a police station. He was later reunited with dad Mark, 50.
Furious Mark and wife Sheena said they felt sick when told Joseph had been out near traffic. Sheena, 44, said: “He’s not going back to the nursery. I could never feel comfortable with him there again.”
Ofsted investigated and issued a welfare notice ordering Catmose nursery in Oakham, Rutland, to improve safety. A spokesman for its governing body said staff had been devastated by the incident and steps had been taken so it could never happen again.
