A woman has tried to get a young girl to get into her car outside a school.Police say they are “extremely concerned” about the incident, where the woman, driving a grey or silver coloured car, tried to get the youngster into the vehicle outside Hadley Learning Community in Telford.
The girl refused and ran off to inform staff, but police are investigating the incident and say they are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything between 2.50pm and 3.10pm on Monday afternoon.
Detective Inspector Jason Everett said: “We’re extremely concerned about this incident which has been traumatic for the victim but which could have been a lot more serious … the girl involved and her family are being supported by specialist officers.”
Erica Aston, headteacher of the primary phase at Hadley Learning Community said: “We’ve been working very closely with the police since the incident happened yesterday. The safety of children is of the utmost importance to us.”
