Traffic Chaos: Car Smashes Into Tanker Carrying Explosive Flammable Liquid – Two Motorway Lanes Closed

1roadA car collided with a taker carrying a “very flammable, explosive liquid” on the M60 in Manchester, prompting the closure of two lanes. Police said the car went into the back of the tanker close to Junction 17, at Prestwich.

Whitefield Fire Station watch manager Patrick Walsh told The Bolton News: “A Fiat Punto collided with the rear of a tanker carrying a very flammable, explosive liquid called vinyl chloride monomer or VCM.”

Drivers were warned to expect long delays following the accident and diversions were put in place.
