The daughter of Soham killer Ian Huntley has told of the horrifying moment she discovered the monster was her father.The 18-year-old told how she found out the shocking news while doing a school project on murdered schoolgirls Holly and Jessica. Samantha Bryan’s mum Katie fell pregnant to Huntley, but her daughter was brought up by another man, reported the Mail on Sunday.
Now 18, she recalled how aged 14 she discovered the truth while doing a school project on notorious killers. She said: “When I got to the name Ian Huntley it meant absolutely nothing to me, nothing at all. I entered his name into Google and started scrolling through pictures of him. There were headlines calling him a ‘cold-hearted child killer’, that sort of thing.
“Then one picture jumped out at me. Although the faces were pixelated, I knew instantly one was my mum. And the little girl standing beside her was me at about ten.” Samantha, who is now training to be a paramedic, added: “I clicked off the picture immediately. I began to shake, I couldn’t stop the tears.”
Ian Huntley was a school caretaker when he murdered 10-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002. He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 40 years.
